In 1977 Giuseppe Apicella gave a new course to the activity of grape producers: the first wine was created with a production of 3000 bottles of Rosso Tramonti. From that first result, the territory was studied and the slopes of the hills were conquered to rediscover ancient vines and new aromas. Today they have reached the 40th harvest thanks to the perseverance, dedication and foresight of Giuseppe and his son Prisco - the company's winemaker.

The vineyards of the Apicella cellars stand out on about 7 hectares of terraces, located at an altitude between 300 and 600 meters above sea level, mainly facing south. The estates are all located in Tramonti, in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, set in the protected natural area of ​​the Lattari Mountains. The soils are made up of incoherent tuffs and detrital materials. The vines are ungrafted, grown in an atypical radial pattern. This is the mix of elements thanks to which we obtain an excellent wine.
